Business security like most procedures needs an audit, to achieve this the various areas need to be examined separately.

1. External site security.
2. Internal site security
3. Cash paper and data protection.
4. Fire protection.

1. The protection of any building has to be measured in terms of probable risk but in most instances the risk is the same. As a large proportion of business establishments are in fairly remote sites or at least in locations that are not occupied at night, greater emphasis needs to be placed on a stronger perimeter such as fencing or greater door and window security. We have contacts in the fencing industry and we concentrate on “close” building security, Anti-ram raid posts, razor wire, anti-climb paint, Intruder alarms and CCTV.
All buildings are different so if you would like one of our team of surveyors to help in your audit just phone 0800

2. Internal site security starts at the front door with visitors, they need to be identified and directed to the person they need to see. All too often “walk in thieves” enter the building and look for an easy opportunity such as an empty office with a unattended handbag or laptop etc. Challenge them and they have a bogus answer “using the toilet” or “do you have any jobs” etc. A simple digital lock can easily prevent this kind of scenario. It gives free and easy access to staff the code can be easily changed and stops unwanted visitors.
Also in most offices staff have different responsibilities and often deal with private and personal papers which requires that their office door is kept locked when not attended. This can easily be achieved using a physical or electronic master key system (essentially keys or card access). Cash offices, computer rooms, accountants office, high value storage rooms, are all places which may require enhanced security such as window grills or bars and high security doors.

3. Cash protection usually takes the form of a safe of some kind, be it a metal tin or bankers safe. See our other page for more detail.

4. Fire protection always is established as a compromise. On the first hand the Fire Brigade require a means of escape “without the use of a key” and on the other hand the police suggest that all doors and windows are locked and barred. We stock many types of panic and other devices and we have extensive experience in applications to suit both aspects.
